Water is the source of all life Minimize

“The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them.”

Isaiah 41:17

These pictures were taken by one of our Board members, Ben, when he was in Ghana. The name of the village is Senase, which is about 6 miles from Berekum.

Ben went to Ghana in 2009 with money he and his wife, Barbara, had raised from his parish, St Gregory Barbarigo's, in Garnerville, New York. They sucessfully had 2 water wells dug, of which this is the second. This well serves the occupants of the village and the school, between 4,000 and 5,000 people. It was quite a celebration!

The first well he dug was in Adom, New Town, which was also near a school and village, and is now serving at least 4,000 adults and children. Now they don't have to walk 4 miles to the nearest stream to get water. Way to go Ben and Barbara!

"I Was Thirsty And You Gave Me a Drink"

Mathew 25:35

IHM has delivered clean water to this area. Many of the people living in the villages were suffering from waterborne diseases. This project was brought to us by Fr. David Ahiaduvor with the support of Fr. Victor Ashiagbor.

The children of St. Margaret Parish, Middle Village, NY, along with Holy Cross High School, St. Adalbert Religious Education Program, The Guido and Helenka Pantaleoni Foundation, Concert for a Cure, From The Ground Up, Dr. Rev. Cletus Forson, Fr. Francis Perry Azah and many more private donors have helped to bring clean drinking water to the community.

Below are pictures of the community fetching water. These people suffered many diseases and illnesses from the water they gathered before the well was dug.

Below are photos of the new source of clean pure water for the community. Mrs. Dolores Voyer, of St. Margaret Parish, is celebrating with the community.

Water now flows at the Adekyee School in Jasikan Minimize

In October of 2009, the Ohio Chapter of IHM received enough revenue in donations to purchase a much needed water pump and storage container for the Adekeyee Grade School in Jasikan. The school had no water at all, only a bore hole dug 2 years ago that could not to draw water without a pump. Sister Phillipina, the principal of the school, had to travel many miles numerous times a day to get water for the school and students. Now the children are very happy that they have clean water available whenever they need it. Great job, Ohio Chapter!

 This is Ndasiman Minimize

GREAT NEWS! We've finished a bore hole in the village of Ndasiman in Ghana which is located near the Cape Coast region. Here is a video I posted on Youtube from before the drilling.

The drilling was a great success! A special thank you to all the supporters of this project, especially the Helenka and Guido Pantaleoni Foundation.

There are over 900 villagers that will use this bore hole.
