IHM Ohio Chapter
IHM Ohio providing water to over 50,000, building church's, counseling centers as well as activities located in: India, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ukraine, and Poland
IHM–Ohio Chapter has been busy arranging to provide water to over 40 villages in various countries in Africa. This allows for more than 50,000 people to get clean, healthy water each day. Since they no longer need to spend hours looking and walking miles to find water, much time is saved.
Many churches and schools have been built, renovated, repaired/reroofed to provide facilities to improve lives, especially that of the children. Much school equipment has been sent, including desks, chairs, maps, books, etc., as well as tuition for those unable to pay for schooling. The tuition includes elementary, secondary and college level students as well as seminarians and especially orphans. Much education has also been provided to address the issue of livelihood for adults that they may be able to develop and maintain a living. Special training has been given to the disabled who have received wheelchairs, canes, etc. Many jobs have been filled with those previously thought uncapable.
We have been involved in the building of a Diocesan Formation and Counseling Centre in Jasikan as well as a new Seminary/Secondary school in Goaso. Cars have been sent to aid the priests in travelling to the various outlying villages for which they are responsible to provide Mass, sacraments and catechetical studies.
IHM-Ohio Chapter is happy to work in any missionary area. We have been active in India, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ukraine, and Poland to date.
Churches and schools have been built, repaired/renovated (mostly reroofing and taking care of storm damage). More than 40 water wells have provided that much needed water for each day. In addition, much help has been contributed to cover the everyday needs and welfare of those who need it. This might include school tuition (elementary, secondary and college level students as well as seminarians and especially orphans), school equipment (desks, chairs, maps, books, etc.), health insurance, burial expenses, laptops. We have also provided many wheel chairs, canes and other medical equipment for the disabled. With our help the Jasikan Diocesan Formation and Counseling Centre has been able to provide special training and education for the disabled to learn ways to lead a productive life. Much success has been had in this endeavor.
The list of projects and needs continues to grow and funds are needed to accomplish them. All donations are used for the project intended as administrative costs are born by the Ohio Chapter. Should you be moved to donate, you may send an email to wuestbl@yahoo.com or mail to:
