James E Kearney School Complete! Now serving 350 students and incredible education experience!

Through the donations of Mother and Father, Veronica and James, his life will always be remembered with LOVE!

James E Kearney, son of James and Veronica died from cancer at the young age of 26.  His mom and dad paid for this beautiful school in his memory through the support of IHM and the direction of Fr, Richard Baffi. Over 350 students will now be able to receive an incredible education experience and become future leaders in Ghana. The school is open and we are proud to update you with the latest on the sports facility.

This is the latest update on the school sports facilities project.

1. The grills have been fixed to prevent fall off.

2. Spraying of the grills is completed.

3. Carpet grass planting around the facility is currently underway.

4. Thank you for your support and kindness.

Dear Jim and Ronnie,

This is the progress report for the JEKM RC School sport facilities’ project and end of the school year observations.

1.      The Lawn Tennis Court is completed. ACECD Technical Team, in consultation with the engineer, is painting “shadow images of the games on the wall” for learning.

2.      The Volleyball Court is completed. However, the ACECD Technical Team, in consultation with the engineer, is installing a safety grill around the edge of the court to prevent school children from falling off.

3.      The Basketball Court is also completed. ACECD Technical Team, in consultation with the engineer, is installing a safety grill around the court.

4.      The overall status of the project is 99.5% complete. The little work left represents the installation of the safety grills.

5.      The only setback we had was the weak exchange of the dollar against the cedi. This challenge adversely affected the cost payments component of the project. However, due to ACECD's credibility records, we have been able to negotiate payment plans.

6.      Our technical team lauded the engineer for the good work done. I am satisfied with the quality of work and the entire project.

7.      The JEKM RC school held a meeting with parents on Wednesday, 23rd July, to mark the end of the academic year. I thanked our teachers and the school’s board for a successful first year of operation and the wonderful results achieved. As part of the engagement, awards were presented to students who excelled in academics and other areas of training. I reminded parents of their duties and the vision for establishing the school. Parents were informed that the next academic year begins on 2nd September 2025.

8.      On Thursday, 24th July, I participated in the staff meeting to plan the 2025/2026 academic year. The teachers were grateful for the support they received from the JEKM Board. The teachers appealed to the board to consider the introduction of teacher excellence awards. A “Thank You” lunch sponsored by ACECD was organised for teachers.

9.      The JEKM RC School is unique and is the dream of every child within the region.

10.  On behalf of the Apesokubi community, the JEKM School community, the teachers, the pupils, and the Parents, ACECD, and on my own behalf, I am very grateful for your generosity. Thank you for everything. May God bless you.
